Some notes on the 2 flavors that you can skip if you don't care: The game really needs about 3 settings for tilt range, unfortunately Dolphin is only set up to allow 2. I'm leaving v1 up just in case I broke something. I've made sure to complete the game and get through all the various special bits before presenting this here.ĮDIT: Based on feedback I've added a new version. You may feel differently and want to put some functions in other places.Īside from the ini, I've prepared a complete document with the exact mappings and how to pull off all the unique motions the game asks for throughout the course. Various other buttons are mapped as I felt most accessible. With a modifier (LB), left analog becomes tilt controls and right analog is the pointer. Left analog is movement, right analog is your sword. But the game can be finished completely without switching mappings or tweaking it at all. It worked, I didn't feel the need to fine-tune it more. Could some of the motions be tweaked? Maybe. Every item, bottle, hcp, goddess cube, gratitude crystal all collected and Demise firmly dead. It came out well and I completed the game 100% with this layout. In the end I came up with a control scheme that I was able to use easily on the fly once I got used to it, without accidentally pressing the wrong button. I looked at existing control maps that people offered but they didn't really seem 'complete' or 100% intuitive. I wanted to play Skyward Sword without wrecking my arm, or missing a sword swing and more importantly, on my fancy new GPD Win 2 portable. Ladies and gentlemen, I'm not sure if this is the best place to put this, but wanted to share my work on a proper control map for Skyward Sword to a standard gamepad.
